Heirloom Equestrian Center is THRILLED to announce that Hayden Herson-Hord and HHH Showjumping is the on-site trainer at Heirloom!
Hayden brings to Heirloom a wealth of experience and knowledge from a lifetime in show jumping. He started out helping run his mother’s grass-roots riding school and developed riders from the ground up. This foundation opened opportunities to coach and train for some of the Northwest’s premier Hunter/Jumper programs. Working with the area’s top athletes, he has trained and competed up and down the West Coast from Spruce Meadows to Desert International Horse Park. Some career highlights include his first Grand Prix at age 18 aboard his own horse Acclaim; 2018 1.10m circuit champion at DIHP aboard Loverboy; Winner of the 2021 Oregon High Desert Classic Mini Prix aboard Gogolinus; and wins up to the 1.40m at premier show jumping venues nationally and internationally.
Hayden has a keen ability to see a horse’s potential in both the Jumper and Hunter rings. Throughout his career, his name has become recognized for his specialty in catch-riding sensitive types, young ones, and helping show horses regain their confidence and love for the sport. His training philosophy has developed into a practical horse-first style that brings together traditional methods with modern techniques. Training sessions include enhancing the horse’s natural physical ability and mental self-reliance.
Hayden strongly believes in well-rounded riders who are active participants in the training process. He takes great pride in bringing out the best in his students. He values efficiency and effectiveness that synchronizes with their horse’s way of going. Every horse and rider combination has its own unique training regime, but a typical week at home includes a mix of flat and jumping exercises that aim to build horse/rider harmony and confidence. Hayden’s knowledge, support, and communication make for a confident and successful partnership between horse and human in the show ring.
